The objectives of this research were to study the personal factors influencing
the organizational commitment and to examine the relationship between the quality
of work life and work satisfaction affecting the organizational commitment. The
sample group included 400 employees at Rajthanee Hospital in Ayutthaya province.
Questionnaires were used as the data collection tool. The statistical data analysis
was conducted using the descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean,
standard deviation, and the inferential statistics including t-test, F-test, and Pearson’s
Correlation Coefficient.
Demographic data showed that most respondents were female, aged over 45
years old, had an academic degree lower than a bachelor’s degree, and worked at
the hospital for less than 5 years. Their opinion on the overall quality of work life
had a mean of 3.25, 3.31 on the overall work satisfaction, and 3.90 on the
organizational commitment. The study revealed that their overall organizational
commitment had a mean of 3.37. It was also found that personnel with different
genders had no difference in their organizational commitment, while different ages,
education, and length of work experience at the hospital did. In addition, both the
quality of work life and the work satisfaction had a positive relationship with the
organizational commitment. |
