Abstract: การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคุณลักษณะของผู้บริหารสูงสุด (CEO) และผลการดำเนินงานของบริษัทจดทะเบียนในตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย(SET100) โดยศึกษาข้อมูลทุติยภูมิระหว่างปีพ.ศ. 2552-2557ที่รวบรวมจากงบการเงินแบบแสดงรายการข้อมูลประจำปี (แบบ 56-1) รายงานทางการเงินฐานข้อมูลของระบบ SETSMART เว็ปไซด์ของบริษัทและจากเว็บไซด์ของตลาดหลักทรัพย์โดยเทคนิคทางสถิติที่ใช้ในการทดสอบสมมติฐานคือการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยแบบพหุคูณ (Multiple Linear Regression) การศึกษาในครั้งนี้ได้แบ่งคุณลักษณะของผู้บริหารสูงสุดเป็น 3ด้าน ได้แก่ คุณลักษณะด้านบุคคล คุณลักษณะด้านเครือข่าย และคุณลักษณะด้านแรงจูงใจ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าคุณลักษณะของผู้บริหารด้านแรงจูงใจมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวกกับอัตราผลตอบแทนต่อส่วนของผู้ถือหุ้น คือ สัดส่วนการถือครองหุ้นสามัญบริษัทของผู้บริหารสูงสุดและการเป็นตัวแทนสมาชิกในครอบครัวของผู้บริหารสูงสุดมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงลบกับอัตราผลตอบแทนต่อส่วนของผู้ถือหุ้น ส่วนคุณลักษณะของผู้บริหารสูงสุดที่มีความสัมพันธ์เชิงลบกับอัตราส่วนราคาตลาดของหุ้นสามัญต่อกำไรสุทธิของบริษัท คือ ด้านคุณลักษณะส่วนบุคคล (อายุ ประสบการณ์การศึกษาในต่างประเทศ) คุณลักษณะด้านแรงจูงใจ (สัดส่วนการถือครองหุ้นของบริษัทของผู้บริหารสูงสุด) และคุณลักษณะของผู้บริหารสูงสุดที่มีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวกกับอัตราส่วนราคาตลาดของหุ้นสามัญต่อกำไรสุทธิของบริษัท คือ คุณลักษณะด้านแรงจูงใจ (ระยะเวลาในการดำรงตำแหน่งการเป็นตัวแทนสมาชิกในครอบครัวของผู้บริหารสูงสุด)
This study examines the relation of the Chief Executive Officer and the corporate performance of listed companies in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET100). The study uses secondary data during the years 2009 and 2014, from financial report, annual report, the SETSMART database and the Stock Exchange of Thailand website. The statistical technique used for the hypotheses testing is Multiple Linear Regression. The characteristics of top executives are divided in three group: personal features, networking features, motivation features accordingly. The results show that the Return on Equity (ROE) arepositively correlated with shareholder's equity holdings by CEO. And being representative of family members of senior management have negative correlation with returns on equity (ROE). CEO Characteristics thathasnegative correlation with the Price to Earnings (P/E) arethe personal characteristics (age, experienceabroad, and education abroad) and create motivation (CEO Ownership), whileCEO Characteristics that is positively correlated with the Price to Earnings (P/E)is create motivation (CEO Tenure, Representing family members of senior management).
