This research paper aims to examine the physical characteristics of the Blue Planet Exhibition at Bangkok Science Center to identify obstacles that obstruct access to the exhibition space. By adopting a universal design concept for the exhibition and proposing a physical environment prototype, the exhibition can be constructed to be accessible and sustainable for all audiences. This study was qualitative research by approaching 2 groups of respondents who are an Exhibition’s audiences; 1) General audience who have an age range of 7-12 years old and 13-45 years old (10 people) 2) Role-played audience who have an age range of 7-12 years old and 30 years old (3 people). The research instruments for data collection and analysis were surveys, observation, photographs, and interviews, note-taking by using Post Occupancy Evaluation. In particular, dimensional measurement tools were applied to measure spaces and equipment in the exhibition and a checklist to record exhibitions’ physical attributes and respondents’ behaviors. Despite the notion that an exhibition should be built to be accessible to everyone without causing inequality or social division, the study revealed that the Blue Planet Exhibition does not have a universal design for all audiences and has barriers to access.
