Exploring knowledge coordination in a distributed and highly interdependent knowledge firm: A case study of Thai destination management company

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the importance and benefits of knowledge coordination within a geographically distributed but highly inter-dependent firm (GDHIF). The research explores different types of dependencies among distributed teams and the coordination mechanisms developed to manage task-resource allocation. Results from the investigation of this study highlight the nature of dependencies and provide the insight of how to manage knowledge coordination mechanisms to optimize tasks and resources of GDHIF.
