Abstract: | This research project aims to examine how My Precious 2023, the Thai remake of the Taiwanese film You Are the Apple of My Eye, adapts its storytelling to portray Thai cultural values while retaining the essence of the original. Employing textual analysis, this research compared the cultural elements, narrative structures, and character portrayals of the two films to identify similarities and differences. For example, the portrayal of key elements reverence of monks highlights the importance of Buddhism in Thai culture. These cultural elements reshape the narrative to reflect Thai societal norms and emotional connections, creating a story that deeply resonates with Thai audiences. The findings of this study reveal how cultural values and narrative structures interact in the Thai remake My Precious 2023, specifically through its adaptation of themes from You Are the Apple of My Eye.
