การศึกษาเกณฑ์ที่เหมาะสมในการตัดเกรดในมหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพ

Abstract

การศึกษาเรื่อง “การหาเกณฑ์ที่เหมาะสมในการตัดเกรดในมหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพ” นี้เป็นการวิจัยเพื่อนำผลไปปฏิบัติ (Action Research) กระทำโดยนายวัฒนา สุนทรชัย หัวหน้าแผนกคณิตศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพ มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อหาเกณฑ์ที่เหมาะสมในการตัดเกรดและเพื่อเป็นข้อมูลในการสร้างคู่มือประกอบการตัดเกรด ในมหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพ โดยศึกษาจากแฟ้มเกรด ซึ่งประกอบด้วยการได้เกรดของวิชาต่างๆ ที่เปิดสอนในมหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพ ในคณะบัญชี บริหารธุรกิจและนิเทศศาสตร์ ในภาคการศึกษาปกติตั้งแต่ปีการศึกษา 2523 ถึง 2526 และศึกษาจากใบ transcripts ของบัณฑิตมหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพที่สำเร็จการศึกษาในปีการศึกษา 2525 และ 2526 โดยใช้แบบฟอร์มที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้นเองเป็นเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย และประมวลผลด้วยเครื่องไมโครคอมพิวเตอร์ภาษา BASIC ปรากฏผลดังนี้ การศึกษาจากแฟ้มเกรด ปรากฏว่า นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 ได้เกรด A,B,C,D และ F โดยเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 10.79, 25.43, 37.77, 17.38 และ 8.63 ตามลำดับ นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2 ได้เกรด A,B,C,D และ F โดยเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 7.92, 24.50, 40.16, 21.18 และ 6.25 ตามลำดับ นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 ได้เกรด A,B,C,D และ F โดยเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 11.04, 33.51, 38.62, 12.94 และ 3.89 ตามลำดับ นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 ได้เกรด A,B,C,D และ F โดยเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 10.92, 37.07, 38.44, 11.62 และ 1.95 ตามลำดับ การศึกษาจากใบ Transcripts ทำให้ทราบว่า บัณฑิตที่สำเร็จการศึกษาในปีการศึกษา 2525 และ 2526 มีเกรดสะสมเฉลี่ยดังนี้ คณะบัญชี 2.68 และ 2.65 คณะบริหารธุรกิจ สาขาการตลาด 2.44 และ 2.42 การบริหารการบุคคล 2.26 และ 2.40 การจัดการ 2.48 และ 2.48 การเงิน 2.43 และ 2.58 การเลขานุการโปรแกรมภาษาไทย 2.55 และ 2.41 โปรแกรมภาษาอังกฤษ 2.81 และ 2.73 คณะนิเทศศาสตร์ สาขาการหนังสือพิมพ์ 2.47 และ 2.65 การประชาสัมพันธ์ 2.41 และ 2.48 ตามลำดับ สำหรับการโฆษณานั้นยังไม่มีบัณฑิตในปีการศึกษา 2525 และในปีการศึกษา 2526 บัณฑิตสาขาการโฆษณาได้เกรดสะสมเฉลี่ย 2.46 สำหรับรายละเอียดในรายงานการวิจัยนั้น นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 และ 2ได้แยกศึกษาตามกลุ่มวิชาที่นักศึกษาแต่และคณะต้องเรียนเรียนรวมกัน ส่วนในชั้นปีที่ 3 และ 4 ได้แยกเป็นคณะและภาควิชา และในบทสุดท้ายได้เสนอแนะการเลือกเกณฑ์ในการตัดเกรด เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับการตัดเกรดในสี่ปีที่ผ่านมา พร้อมกันนั้นก็ได้เสนอแนะตารางสำหรับการควบคุมคุณภาพของเกรด เพื่อมิให้เกรดต่างๆ มีความแตกต่างกันมากเกินไป

The studying of the topic titled “Research for the optimal criterion for Grading in KTU” is an action research, conducted by MR.WATHANA SOONTHORNDHAI, Head of Mathematics Department, KTU. The purpose is to find out the optimal criterion for grading and get some data to construct a manual for grading in KTU. It was studied from the grade files of all courses offered in the School of Accounting, Business Administration and Communication Arts of KTU during the first and second semesters (daytime) from the academic year 1980 to 1983, and also from the transcripts of KTU graduates during the year 1982-1983. The format used in this study was prepared by the researcher, and the data were computed by using the Microcomputer Basic language. The results are as the following: From the grade files, Freshmen got A,B,C,D and F which is equivalent to 10.79, 25.43, 37.77, 17.38 and 8.63 per one hundred; for Sophomore: 7.92, 24.50, 40.16, 21.18, and 6.25 : for Junior : 11.04, 35.51, 38.62, 12.94 and 3.89 and for Senior : 10.92, 37.07, 38.44 11.62 and 1.95, respectively. From the transcripts of the graduates of the academic year 1982 and 1983, the data showed that different cum. GPA is resulted from different majors as the following : 2.68 and 2.65 for School of Accounting; 2.44 and 2.42 (Marketing Major), 2.26 and 2.40 (Personnel Major) 2.48 and 2.48 (Management Major), 2.43 and 2.58 (Finance Major), 2.55 and 2.41 (Thai-Program Secretary), and 2.81 and 2.73 (English- Program Secretary) for the School of Business Administration: 2.47 and 2.65 (Journalism), and 2.41 and 2.48 (Public Relations) for the School of Communication Arts. For Advertising Major, there was no graduates in the academic year 1982, but in 1983, the cum. GPA was 2.46. It is regulated here that freshmen and sophomores of all school are to take certain required subjects; such as, Jurisprudence, Thai Language, etc. before pursuing their own majors in the third and fourth years. One will find in the final chapter of this report how criteria are selected. The chart showing grade quality control is also presented.
