The objectives of this research were 1) to study the learning of Thai youth about Japanese culture: values, beliefs and ways of life via five stories of Japanese comic media, 2) to investigate how Thai youth use those values, beliefs and ways of life from five stories of Japanese comic to apply to their lives. The research was qualitative, by using textual analysis of five stories of Japanese cartoons; (1) Reborn (2) BLEACH (3) One Piece (4) Hunter X Hunter and (5) Naruto, the most popular cartoons in the past five years in Thailand (2010-2014). In addition, the author incorporated semiotic theories as theoretical framework. From the analysis, the researcher used the results to set questions for conducting a focus group. The sample was purposive. They were 48 Thai students from four secondary schools in Bangkok. (Mathayomsuksa 1-6). Then, the researcher selected four students from those four schools for in-depth interviews, altogether 16. The results revealed that 1) Thai youth learned about values of sacrifice, love among friends, discipline, attempt, courage, masculinity, patience, and generosity. As for beliefs, there were natural phenomenon, ghosts the next world, mystical world, and superpower of humans. Regarding ways of life, there were food culture, family, following the rules of society, living in their own styles, and living together as a group. The values that Thai youth applied in their daily life were conformity and attempt. For beliefs, Thai youth believed there was the next world and this made them behave well for living in heaven instead of going to hell. Finally, living their lives carefully and obeying to adults were their ways of life.
