Title: A Quasi-Experimental Investigation of The Moderating Effects of Gamification on The Relationship Between Customer Engagement and New Service Development Process Involvement
Authors: Voravee Ruengaramrut
Abstract: A significant portion of innovative efforts in business is related to the
development of new services. The organizations that provide novel services now have
the potential to build closer relationships with customers and also higher growth
opportunity than others. Organizations can increase their competitive advantage and
enhance their relationship with their customers with new service development.
In this research, gamification is considered as a moderating factor that helps
boost up customer engagement and intention to be involved in service development
process as same as the performance of development process. This research believes
that gamification’s element can strengthen up level of customer involvement and level
of customer engagement to the service.
The quasi-experimental investigation was conducted in three phases, which
are; strategic planning, idea generation, and idea screening. To investigate the result,
confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used as a test method. The result shows that
there is a significant association between intention to be involved in NSD process and
NSD process involvement in gamification context. In the means time, the strongest
impact of gamification in the three phases of new service development is strategic
planning phase. In addition, we also found that participants who participate in
gamification context will be more engagement and have high intention to be involved
in NSD process. This study provides the first steps in findings the ability of
gamification in a role of moderator variable to create strong relationship between
customer engagement and new service development process involvement. The
implications both for academically and for the practitioners are discussed as same as
directions for future research are also provided in this research.2022-03-08T00:00:00ZGoods to good: Effect of Thai consumers’ awareness of corporate social innovation (CSI) on the innovation adoption factors, predictors of behavioral intention, and brand purchase intention

Title: Goods to good: Effect of Thai consumers’ awareness of corporate social innovation (CSI) on the innovation adoption factors, predictors of behavioral intention, and brand purchase intention
Authors: Sora Kaitkanarat
Abstract: This study examined the impact of Corporate Social Innovation (CSI) on the innovation adoption factors (including perceived relative advantage and perceived compatibility), predictors of behavioral intention (including subjective norm, attitude, and perceived behavioral control), and their purchase intention among Thai consumers. A total of 480 Bangkok residents aged between 25 to 40 years old were randomly selected. The results through Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) analysis with a significance level of 0.05 revealed six findings:
1) The awareness of CSI directly influenced the innovation adoption factors, predictors of behavioral intention, but not on purchase intention; 2) the awareness of CSI indirectly affected purchase intention, as mediated by each of the predictors of behavioral intention (including subjective norm, attitude, and perceived behavioral control), and as mediated by brand loyalty together with perceived relative advantage, 3) perceived relative advantage and attitude directly affected brand equity (including perceived quality and brand loyalty), 4) brand equity influenced attitude directly, 5) subjective norm and perceived behavioral control directly affected attitude, and 6) all predictors of behavioral intention (including subjective norm, attitude, and perceived behavioral control) significantly influenced the purchase intention. The results of this CSI study fill the gap in the body of knowledge, and at the same time, create a potential framework for an organization to adopt this CSI practice for the sustainable betterment of both organization and society as a whole.

Title: The Influence of Government-Private Sector Collaboration on Innovation in a Developing Knowledge Economy: The Case of Bahrain
Authors: Marjan Modara
Abstract: Knowledge and innovation have become the foremost driving strength of economic and social development worldwide. Globalization and the accelerated dissemination and transfer of new knowledge and innovations have affected all nations and regions, public and private institutions, and the lives and prospects of citizens in those nations. The Kingdom of Bahrain is one of those countries that has lagged behind the pace of the current innovations, and its leaders have realized that in order for Bahrain to remain in the forefront of the global economy, its government has to focus on building strategies and policies that will contribute in developing an innovation ecosystem in the country. Based on the perspectives of 22 participants and three Focus Groups, one each from private, semi-government, and government sectors that influence the economy of Bahrain and the reports and articles published regarding those sectors; (a) government, (b) education, (c) ICT, (d), finance, and (d)
industry, the findings showed that the government and the private sector were taking progressive steps in collaboration to influence the innovation processes in the kingdom. While the results demonstrate that most of the participants are of the belief that the private sector should lead the collaboration efforts, the government institutions are the ones who have initiated the lead and are promoting the process.
The findings also show that finance is the leading sector in innovation activities, while education and the big industries are still lagging far behind. As government and private institutions need to build their collaborative roles towards building an innovation ecosystem, internal frameworks are required to be devised as innovation strategies in the core of each organization’s business. The researcher has confidence that all stakeholders will recognize the efforts established to date in the works undertaken by the government and the private institutions to build a strong government-private collaborative initiative, and use the findings and recommendations of this study to modernize their activities to support the efforts undertaken to date. It is of vital importance for the private sector to take the role of producer of innovation in the potential forthcoming innovative accomplishments and to take the lead role in collaborative efforts, giving way to the government institutions to focus on drawing effective policies and regulations for these activities.

Title: Experimental research on employee performance review using knowledge management oriented OKRs approach in comparison to KPI approach
Authors: Wiraiwan Kanket
Abstract: Organizations engage in performance evaluations with a number of different tools and purposes, which in turn often resulting in confusion about the true purpose of performance evaluation. However, the use of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) is still new in the Thai society. Therefore, this study is to investigate the understanding of Thai employee towards the adoption of OKRs, and to compare the performance with that of working under Key Performance Indicator (KPI). The results revealed that Thai employees were familiar with the working practices under the concept of KPI more than OKRs. This proved that OKRs was still new in the Thai society. It was clear that OKRs facilitates the process of knowledge sharing and exchange of information in the team. However, OKRs requires a team where its members have good knowledge or competence so that they can contribute to the team, as well as with the effective communication channel, and discipline to follow the key results. In other words, work practices under OKRs with no leader as the center will be less effective when team members have less or no competence, lack of effective communication, and no discipline of members.
